Missouri River Lodge
On the Lewis & Clark Trail
Missouri River Lodge; a bed and breakfast, is located on a 2,000 acre working ranch near Stanton, North Dakota. Our lodge is nestled in a river bottom valley along the Missouri River, surrounded by badland formations. Our ranch has several miles of Missouri River frontage on the Lewis & Clark Trail.
Activities include 10 miles of trails on which to hike, bike (rentals on site), ride (bring your horse), or rent an electric golf cart (rentals on site). The trail in the woods along the Missouri River is on the Lewis & Clark Trail, where you can view the beautiful scenery of the badlands and come across abundant wildlife including nesting eagles. We also have a trail to a National Historic Place called High Butte Effigy - Turf Cut Turtle Effigy. This is a very rare Native American site. Our third trail takes you to a State archeological village site of the early Woodland Indian era, a view that George Catlin painted in 1831 after the Lewis & Clark Expedition, and a buffalo jump. Further on this trail you can view the upper badland formations and enjoy the abundant wildlife. We offer horse boarding for those who would like to bring their own horses.
