New Haven Ranch
Ranch Vacation in Wyoming
In the year 1860, thousands of fortune seeking Americans came from the East to Wyoming, where the government promised 640 acres of America to every family that homesteaded the new frontier. Some chose a tranquil corner of Crook County where the homesteaders called their new home "New Haven".
A hundred years later most of the homesteads have disappeared. Big cattle barons took the land from the small homesteaders through distress sales, cheating, and murder. In this way, New Haven expanded to four times its original size. The buildings and houses of the expelled homesteaders went to ruin. Only the New Haven ghost town signifies the old Wild West.
