Uapashke backcountry ski trip in northern Quebec

   Trip Description

The wild, remote and uninhabited Uapashke (“white mountains”) or Groulx Mountains, rise above tree line to 1,100 m at the 52° parallel. The skiing is on trails in dense untouched forest, and through taiga and on tundra. There will still be tons of snow. We will spend three nights in a log cabin and three nights in a woodstove heated prospector tent which is stocked with food and equipment, but we will have to carry our own personal gear to and from this tent. The sky is so blue and the air so clear that you can see details on mountains many kilometres away. For a spiritual release come to the Uapashke.
