Trip Description

Combine several of the Arkansas' best whitewater sections into a great multi-day trip and experience the fun of self-contained overnight camping by the river. Two-day trips include both the Narrows and Browns Canyon, Three day trips offer you the opportunity to sit back after exiting Browns Canyon and enjoy the spectacular valley views of the lower Collegiate Peaks Range. We will also enter the steep and rocky Bighorn Sheep Canyon late in the morning of the third day where we occasionally catch glimpses of the sheer and jagged Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The third day is a bit milder than the first three days and a welcome break from the intensity of the first two days. We have inflatable kayaks available on day three for those interested in guiding their own boat and keeping their adrenaline up. Inflatable kayaks are long skinny rafts that are more stable than hard-shelled kayaks but maneuvered with the same kind of two bladed paddle. These little boats are perfect for those looking for some extra excitement. Our camp for the second night is located on a lush green bench above the river with views of the mountains. One of our favorite things about a 3-day trip is that one entire day is away from cars and phones and responsibilities. We like to think this is the "real world" that many of us have forgotten exists!

Special Features:
Every Wilderness Aware multi-day trip is assigned a special gear boat to carry the group\'s camping equipment down the river. This gives us the flexibility to stop at secluded campsites in the canyons, offering unparalleled views of the river and mountains. Many companies in Colorado don\'t offer this wilderness-style trip. Our first time guests are thrilled by the quantity and quality of the food served on our trips. Hearty meals from our extensive menu are prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients. A meal with us is an event to remember. When you raft with us, you will enjoy comforts that are not normally associated with backcountry camping. After a great day on the river, imagine yourself enjoying a cold drink by the campfire while your guides prepare a delicious multi-course meal.
