Experience living the old ways in an authentic native village of the 1800’s. Traditional crafts and wilderness skills are taught in addition to historic activities that will fill a 5-day learning program. Take a step back in time with Gray Wolf and Brian & Sara to visit history in the days of the Buffalo culture on the Plains. To re-enact history, to live and feel the part, to know it personally is how we approach the living history experience. Each has devoted over 20 years learning the crafts and skills of the Northern Plains that include making moccasins, authentic beading and quill work, traditional hide painting from the Plains utilizing earth pigments and hide glue paints applied on tanned hides as in days of old , rawhide parfleche containers, drums & rattles, bow & arrow making and many other crafts .

Special Features: This comprehensive 5 day learning program is designed to include an introductory week to learn fundamentals then progress to advanced weeks to further the knowledge of authentic life-ways of the Native Plains Peoples and to participate in living history for the students. The program will begin with an orientation of a Plains village that includes the construction, furnishings and exterior accoutrements of the tipi.
